I recently left my full-time job to contract. This meant I needed to get my own health care plan. I ended up going with Kaiser since it was very highly rated, and literally ½ the cost of the next cheapest option. Sorry, PAMF. I like you but not that much.
It looks like their prescriptions are a pretty good price. But I think it's always wise to price check. My go-to site for that is GoodRx.com. For the few drugs I checked, there is literally a 3✕ difference between the cheapest and the most expensive. In the case of atorvastatin, it is more than 5✕ (cheapest is $8; most expensive is $43).
I recommend you always check against what you are currently paying. Sometimes the cheapest option for you might not even involve your insurance.
