Ghandi said we need to be the change we wish to see in the world. I have been writing about charter schools in Santa Clara county for nearly a year. I believe now is the time for me to take a more proactive role. So I have decided to run for a seat on the Santa Clara County Board of Education.
I live in Trustee Area 1 which encompasses 4 school districts: Palo Alto Unified, Mountain View Whisman Elementary, Los Altos Elementary, and Sunnyvale Elementary. I have a real affinity for this area: I have lived in each one of these school districts at some point during the 19 years I have lived in CA.

If you agree with my position, I'd appreciate your vote in the election this November. I would also very much appreciate your help in spreading the word about my candidacy. I know that it will be difficult for someone like me who is not well-known to unseat an incumbent. I need all the grass roots support I can get.
And thanks to the many people who have reached out to me directly over the past year on the topic of charter schools and education. It is because of the positive support I have received that I have the strength, determination, and optimism to take on this challenge.
