On day one of Joseph Di Salvo's re-election campaign, Diane Ravitch denounces him as a "phony"

I received this email in my Inbox this morning kicking off the re-election campaign for Joseph Di Salvo. I didn't get very far into it, because my eye was immediately drawn to the image immediately adjacent to his head shot. It's a picture of Diane Ravitch's anti-charter school book, which has the tag line: "How testing and choice are undermining education." This is the same board president who has presided over the approval of 25 charter schools in his most recent term.

When I asked him if he read the book and if he believes his actions are aligned with its ideas, he responded: "Yes, read book. Agree with much of what she says."

One of my fellow concerned citizens then reached out to Diane Ravitch via her Twitter account.
